Just before the COVID pandemic, my husband and I spent a lovely weekend in Brooklyn New York visiting my youngest daughter Taylor and her partner Nick. Lindsey and Corey also joined us as well as Roberta and Paul. It was great seeing every one together and while the weather was a bit on the harsh side, we managed to get all around the town seeing the sites.
It was a fun-filled weekend for sure. We went to visit various sites in NYC and at one point we were at a lovely restaurant taking lunch. There were oysters on the menu and I made the comment that I did not trust oysters or any other shellfish for that matter. Paul was adamant that I try the oysters as they were from New England and could be trusted. Normally I would have refused to try them but his gentle way of encouraging me with humor was so endearing, I was finally coaxed into trying them and have enjoyed them ever since. Paul always made me feel welcome in his presence. He invited us into his home and his heart. He loved GRIN and it was always good to hear he would be at one of the many openings held there by Lindsey and Corey. His smile was ever present. His hugs were warm and welcoming. I will never forget Paul and will miss him very much.
