I don’t even know where to begin with my memories with Paul. I had the pleasure of meeting Paul years ago when my older sister Lindsey started dating Corey. Paul instantly became part of our family and he always made me feel a part of his. We ran into each other at many of Corey and Lindsey‘s gallery events, caught up on life, always laughed about pretty much anything, and enjoyed a cold beer (or 5 😂). One summer on the Cape while my family was enjoying a week off from our hectic personal and work lives, Paul and Roberta invited my sisters and I to go clamming and have a nice lunch and relax after (which Roberta always prepared and was absolutely amazing). This one time clamming trip eventually turned into an annual summer event for us, and one I looked forward to most out of my whole summer! Paul and I shared a LOVE and obsession for Jeeps. I would always call shot gun in his old orange Jeep that he fixed up. I can picture it now, this beautiful, hot summer day-Paul with his baseball hat on with his clamming license clipped to the side blowing in the wind, music blaring, biggest smile on his face driving all of us baboons to the clamming farm for a fun filled day. after about 2 years Paul named me the “Clam whisperer” because I would always find clams right away! I will forever cherish this memory and hope to continue this event in his honor.
Recently Paul had the opportunity to meet my boyfriend Jay and our puppy Archie when he hosted Lindsey and Corey’s wedding celebration. He immediately welcomed Jay and Archie into his family with arms wide open. We even talked about coming back down this summer to take Archie and Blue to the fields nearby his house and watch them run around like lunatics. That lobster bake was one of our last times seeing Paul and we cherish that moment seeing him so proud and happy that both of our families were together.
Although Paul is my sisters father-in-law, he did a pretty good job at making me feel like he was my father-in-law. I’ll miss everything about you Paul, but I know you’ll always be with us. I promise to continue living life how you did and cherish every single moment with the people I love. Rest In Peace 💙
love always,
Alex, Jay, & Archie boy
